This hotel was amazing! The rooms are so clean and perfect. The pillows were awesome too! We loved the balcony and sat out there at night. The rooms were also very quiet. It is located right in the middle of Gatlinburg so we could walk everywhere we went. Highly recommend this place.

So we took the family to gatlinburg last week. And this hotel was actually the only bright spot of the entire trip, we thought the location was great. The staff was super friendly. The rooms were nice and we appreciated the free breakfast every morning, it actually exceeded our expectations.I would recommend this hotel to anybody... As far as gatlinburg, I would encourage any family that's reading this to skip gatlinburg entirely and pigeon forge... It's just a massive tourist trap... You should expect incredibly long wait times to do anything that is remotely interesting and tons and tons of relentless walking with sidewalks that are packed with thousands of people, and there is only 2 public restrooms on the entire 2 mile strip... And all of the shops have signs on them that say "no public restroom available", which I thought was just insane, because people buying stuff from these shops is the only reason this entire place exists and you can't use the bathrooms. I would encourage any families to go to some other mountain town, go exploring, go hiking, do ANYTHING except go to these cities. The money that we spent for this trip and what we got in return, it just isn't worth it.

Wonderful place to stay!! The staff are always so pleasant when we are there- from check in to check out. They always greet us so kindly- everytime we come and go. And the contential breakfast is always yummy! The place is not in the middle of downtown Gatlinburg so you have to walk a little to get to all the shops- but thats why we love it. Its located up on the end of town heading out to the parkway and is an awesome retreat after a long day of shopping and Moonshine tasting . I recommend this awesome place to stay y'all!! Grab a street view room - if you love to people watch !

Overall, this hotel is worth the stay. If you're going to Gatlinburg, having a hotel that allows you to walk to everything is a must. There's on site parking here, you get a pass when you check in. There is also a very standard breakfast included. The staff that checked us in were friendly and helpful. The gentleman that checked us out when we left was literally watching an AI YouTube video and seemed bothered when I said, "excuse me" after waiting, unacknowledged, for 5 minutes right in front of him. We had a 2 bedroom suite as we were staying with our adult son. There was ample space for everyone. As a lot of other people mentioned, the hotel is extremely clean. Some of the best housekeeping I've ever seen at a hotel. We were in the Andrew Johnson and there's a balcony with a fire pit. However, there are also 4 LARGE and very loud air conditioning units on that balcony. (I left them out of my photos for anesthetics.) It was basically unusable. The door that led out to the balcony had only a thin paper shade over it and was so bright from street lights when you were trying to sleep. There are 2 beautiful windows in the living room area. If you were going to have someone sleep on the couch, there are no blinds or curtains. That didn't matter for us, but FYI. There are also 2 windows that flank the main door. They let in the hallway light and keep a glow under the bedroom doors. I would definitely recommend the hotel. Cleanliness alone makes it a wonderful stay, but there was ample space and parking along with good walkability. Just wanted to paint a full picture for people looking to book a room.

The room we stayed had a balcony facing the street with window and glass door, but it didn't have blackout curtains. Probably that's the same for the other rooms. So I recommend you to bring your eye protection if you don't sleep well in bright rooms at night as if it were daytime. Despite this issue, the room was comfortable (mattress, clothes, bedroom...). But also we didn't like the breakfast. Luckily for us, across the street is one of the best breakfast places in town (Crockett's 1875). The location is excellent. It's in the beginning of the main street, so you can walk. People are friendly and kind.

We would not consider going anywhere but black bear and and sweets the friendliness the cleanliness. The rooms are so beautiful and we love the balconies overlooking the main Street and yet it is so quiet inside your room. You will never go anywhere else once you've been to the Black Bear Inn and Suites in Gatlinburg Tennesseen

Older but newly renovated hotel at the end of the strip. It rivals my OCD grandmother’s house in terms of cleanliness. It’s evident the Black Bear Inn team cares about presentation and guest experience. Their team is warm and welcoming and goes above and beyond to ensure guests are well cared for during their stay. A standard no frills complementary buffet style breakfast is served by staff every morning. I thought this was a nice touch so food wasn’t hovered over by guests. We had a good fortune of having basically a mini swimming pool in our room, which was fun. I haven’t seen a Jacuzzi tub that big in years! Haha! The housekeeping team came daily and refreshed all of our towels and linens and made adorable towel art that greeted us at the end of each day. The level of care and attention to detail from their team is 10/10. Big shout out the “two-time retired” gentleman that works at the front desk. I believe his name was Robert. He has the patience of a saint and handled multiple customer requests with grace. He’s a gem!
